Imagine SimCity in a Dungeon, with bits of Warcraft thrown in. That's Dungeon Keeper, one of the best games this year so far. In this game, you mission is to 1) dig out a beautiful dungeon that will keep your loot safe, 2) attract monsters, and 3) defeat other wannabe dungeon keepers. There are many types of monsters you can control, rooms to build, and enemies to defeat, among them the Avatar who is the ultimate "good" guy in this game. Dungeon Keeper is a highly addictive game and features IPX network play for further enjoyment, with TCP-IP and 3dFX patches in the works.
