Magic the Gathering by Microprose
Based on the popular Wizards of the Coast collectible card game, you play a wizard that draws upon the different elements to power your magic. There is supposed to be multiplayer capabilities as well as an actual storyline, but Microprose's latests financial and technical woes put in doubt seeing this in the near future.
Release Date - Late 1996
From a press release:
"Players can explore the virtual world of Shandalar to collect, trade, and
sell Magic cards and build decks to prepare for the Duel versus the computer." The computer
"is armed with over 100 decks. There is also a multimedia tutorial designed to teach
new players the basics of the game."
The game will be released in three stages, the first is the single player game. A head-to-head
upgrade will appear after, as will a version that allows you to play "cyber-tournaments via
a new Web-based service."

Magic the Gathering by Acclaim
Fellow M:TG lisencee Acclaim is also hard at work on a strategy game based on the popular card series. There are no cards or decks, instead you gather lands, creatures, artifacts, etc. to take into battle. The effects will be the same however. The computer has pre-made decks. Release Date - November for Win95, Playstation, Saturn.
